A taste of this wine includes delicate shades of vanilla and cedar, mixed with black currants and blackberry. Ageing gives this wine robustness and an extended aftertaste, with slightly bitter shades. In order to enjoy this wine for its true worth, it is recommended to let it breathe for at least one hour before drinking. The ideal serving temperature is of 18°C. Food-wise, Merlot is harmoniously blended with mutton, red meat or foods that include tomato sauces.
