Feteasca Neagră is a local variety of grapes in Romania, used to produce the wine of the same name. The wines are of well-defined colour, with an intense red colour and ruby-like shades. The flavour of wines produced from Feteasca Neagră is pleasant, complex and original, enjoying the contribution of the aroma of grapes, reminiscent of the flavour of black currants or hinting at the perfume of dry plums. The taste, which is seemingly reminiscent of blackberry, is generally well-balanced, consistent and vigorous. The balanced acidity, characteristic to this grape variety, has a beneficial effect and leaves a pleasant and persistent memory. The elegant tannins are perfectly supported by the taste of red berries and enduring aftertaste. The wine structure is cursive, well-rounded, and the colour-flavour-aftertaste axis is in complete harmony. It can be enjoyed after settling or it can be left to age. Feteasca Neagră is a wine that can be enjoyed with a steak, grilled meat or smoked cheese.
